Rich Evans

RichRich Evans has a knack for teaching all levels of players, and he has been our primary junior instructor for several years. He started to play at age 16 and was a scratch player by age 19. (What is scratch? It means he could regularly score 72 for 18 holes.) While he has extensive experience in competitive golf, his teaching style is geared toward presenting golf as an enjoyable everyday activity for a lifetime. He lived in California for many years, and he now enjoys raising his son in Elizabeth Township.

Rich's golf background:

  • 1979-1985 -- Worked for Len Kennett's Golf Shops and golf courses.
  • 1982-1984 -- Teaching Professional at the Pasadena Golf Shop.
  • 1985-1991 -- Teaching Professional at Brookside Golf Course. This Golf Shop was consistently ranked as one of the Top 50 Golf Shops in the U.S.
  • 1992-1999 -- Head Professional and part owner of Arroyo Seco Golf Shop in South Pasadena, CA. Sold share of business in 2004. The staff there included the late Paul Runyan (2-time PGA winner) and Horace Evans (renowned golf instructor in southern California).
  • Competed in PGA Tournaments and was a consistent money winner in southern California PGA events. One of his biggest accomplishments was winning the 1988 Chevy Chase Pro-Am in Glendale, CA. That field included many players that competed in Tour and Senior events.
